Stained Glass Beginnings
As a child in Colorado I enjoyed improvising to create things I'd see and Iiked with the use of the resources I had available. In 1982 I learned the stained glass technique from an artist friend and started making a few windows.
After moving to Wyoming in 1995, I had always wanted to make a stained glass window for my former church. In the meantime, I added my own flare to a drawing of an elk I'd requested from my friend and made the Elk in an Oak Brush Canopy from my experience of living in Carbondale, Colorado. I had not designed a window on my own as of yet.
Suddenly, while sitting in front of a piece of graph paper in 1997, I began drawing a lion's head. So quickly did it come to me that I did not erase a single stroke. However, I ran out of graph paper before completing the drawing. I was drawing The Lion of the Tribe of Judah from Revelation 5:5. I knew then this was a gift from my Lord and I have continued ever since. This window resides in Glenwood Springs, Colorado at the New Creation Church.
I am truly thankful for this opportunity to create and enjoy so much that there is nothing that I'd rather do.
